Terms

About these Terms
These Terms are the agreement between Penny Drop Maths Limited and the parent or carer who creates and manages the household account. They apply when you create an account, use the free diagnostic, accept an invitation offer or buy a subscription.
Penny Drop Maths Limited is registered in England and Wales under company number 17348480. Our registered office is 6 Vicarage Road, Edgbaston, Birmingham, England, B15 3ES. You may contact us at support@pennydropmaths.co.uk.
Your account and the service
You must be at least 18 to create an account. You may create a child profile where you have parental responsibility or appropriate authority for that child. You are responsible for the household account, keeping the parent password and PIN secure, and making sure children do not enter parent-only areas.
Penny Drop Maths is a personalised KS2 maths diagnostic and catch-up pathway for children in school Years 4, 5 and 6. It provides a free diagnostic and summary. A subscription provides the fuller report, personalised learning order, teaching materials, practice and progress information included in the selected plan.
The service supports a child’s learning and practice. It is not a formal school assessment or a replacement for teaching at school. Progress and results will vary between children.
You need an internet-connected device, a current supported web browser and access to your account email. Essential browser storage may be required for sign-in, security and core functions.
Prices and subscriptions
All prices are in pounds sterling and include any tax we are required to charge. The 6-month price gives 6 months for the price of 5 compared with monthly billing.
| Plan | Up to 2 children | Up to 5 children |
|---|---|---|
| Standard monthly | £15 | £25 |
| Standard every 6 months | £75 | £125 |
| Founding Parent monthly | £13.50 | £22.50 |
| Founding Parent every 6 months | £67.50 | £112.50 |
Any eligible offer or coupon is applied at checkout. Before you subscribe, we show the child limit, billing frequency, amount due that day, next charge date and renewal frequency.
Starting and renewing your subscription
A paid subscription starts when your payment succeeds and we confirm your order. Access starts immediately, and we email your order information.
At checkout, you ask us to start supplying the digital content during the statutory 14-day cancellation period and acknowledge that your right to cancel that digital content ends when access is supplied. Your other statutory rights are unaffected.
A monthly subscription renews monthly. A 6-month subscription renews every 6 months. Both continue until cancelled. We send reminders 7 days and 1 day before each charge, followed by a payment confirmation.
We may change prices by giving at least 30 days’ notice. The new price applies only from the renewal date stated in the notice, and you may cancel before then.
Founding Parent pricing
Founding Parent pricing is available to the first 500 paying households. It is secured when the household’s first Founding Parent payment succeeds.
Founding Parent pricing is 10% below the then-current Standard price while the subscription remains continuous. Changing the child limit or billing frequency does not end continuity. If the subscription ends and you return later, the price then available will apply.
Invitation offers
A private Tester invitation is personal and expires on the date shown in the invitation.
To activate it, you choose a plan, accept the current Terms and provide a payment method. We charge £0 on activation and provide complimentary access until the stated expiry date. Unless you cancel, the discounted subscription price shown at activation is first charged on that date and then renews at the selected frequency.
You may change or cancel the selected plan before the first charge. If you cancel, no first payment is taken and complimentary access continues until the stated expiry date. The Tester price is available while the subscription remains uninterrupted.
Cancellation, refunds and payment problems
You can cancel using the Cancel subscription button in your parent account. Cancellation stops the next renewal and access continues until the end date shown in your account.
You may reverse a scheduled cancellation before access ends. Your subscription then continues without interruption.
Each payment covers the full subscription period purchased. Your statutory rights remain in place, including where digital content is faulty or not as described. Where you are entitled to a refund, we return it promptly to the original payment method.
If a renewal payment fails, you have 7 days to update your payment details. Access continues during that period. If payment is not recovered, the subscription and access end.
Changing plans and child profiles
- Upgrading: an upgrade from 2 to 5 children takes effect immediately after you confirm the charge shown.
- Downgrading: a downgrade from 5 to 2 children takes effect at the next renewal. If more than 2 profiles exist, you select the 2 that remain active.
- Changing billing: a change between monthly and 6-month billing takes effect on the date shown before you confirm it.
- Inactive profiles: profiles not selected following a downgrade become inactive.
Referrals: Give a month. Get a month.
Eligible subscribers receive a personal referral link. A referral qualifies when a new household uses that link, begins a paid subscription and its first payment remains successful for 14 days.
Each qualifying referral gives 1 additional month to the referring household and 1 to the new household. The additional month extends access and moves the next paid renewal date without changing the underlying monthly or 6-month billing frequency.
Referral months may accumulate, have no cash value and cannot be transferred. They are separate from any subscription discount and do not expire while the qualifying paid subscription remains continuous.
Any referral reward earned during complimentary access becomes active when the first paid subscription begins and its first payment is made.
Referral rewards are for genuine new households.
Using Penny Drop Maths
You may use Penny Drop Maths and its learning materials for personal, non-commercial use within your household. The service, diagnostic logic, reports, learning content, software, design and branding belong to us or our licensors.
You must not:
- share paid access outside your household or bypass a plan limit;
- copy, publish, sell or commercially exploit our materials;
- interfere with the service or attempt to access another household’s information; or
- use the service unlawfully.
We may suspend access where reasonably needed to protect users or the service, address non-payment or respond to a serious breach of these Terms.
Availability and changes
We work to keep Penny Drop Maths available and up to date. Maintenance, updates and events outside our reasonable control may cause temporary interruptions.
We may improve or update features and learning content. If we permanently withdraw the paid service and cannot provide a reasonable alternative, we will give reasonable notice and refund the affected unused paid period.
We may update these Terms for legal, regulatory, security, technical or product reasons. If a change materially affects an existing subscription, we will explain it before it takes effect and give reasonable notice. You may cancel before the affected renewal.
Privacy
Our Privacy page contains the Parent Privacy Notice and the Child Privacy Notice. It explains how we use parent, account, subscription and child learning information.
The parent controls the household account. Child profiles are private and are not visible to other households.
